KYOKO K. KASSARJIAN
Born in the City of Kawaguchi, Japan, Kyoko Kassarjian’s life has revolved largely around flowers arranged in the distinctly Ikebana way. She has studied Ikebana in both Japan and the U.S., receiving the Sogetsu School of Ikebana’s highest degree, “RIJI”, in 1998. She crossed the Pacific to the United States thirty three years ago and has been happily sharing her knowledge and skills with anyone interested since then. Ms. Kassarjian has been teaching certificate programs for the past fifteen years at UCLA, Pierce College and Mission College. She also provides private lessons for advanced students. Her work is currently on display at the Japanese American National Museum in Los Angeles. Her designs may also be viewed at Ayumi Jewelry in the Mitzuwa department store in Little Tokyo, Fox Industrial Realty, and Summerville Terrace, all in the Los Angeles area.
